When it comes to applications for permits and visas it is important to bear in mind that we first need to assess if a candidate actually qualifies for any of the following Visas:
If a candidate is being transferred for a company abroad to a SA affiliated company and he has been working for more than six months for the foreign company, then he could apply for an Intra Company Transfer work visa.
If a candidate’s occupation is on the critical skills list and complies to the other criteria he could possibly apply for a Critical Skills work visa.
If a Candidate’s occupation is not on the Critical skills list, then he could possibly apply for a General work visa under the new Points Based System.
This option is if the candidate is married to or in a Life Partner relationship with a SA Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Holders of ZEP permits can apply for a waiver first and then later on a General Work Visa – these applications are not subjected to the Points Based System
For candidates who have been accepted at registered learning institutions.
Applicants must show medical aid cover for the term of study.
If you are a relative to a SA Citizen or PR holder in the first step of kinship.
This visa allows you to live in SA but does not allow you to work in SA.
NOTE:
All these applications must be submitted by the applicant in person abroad at the relevant SA Embassy in the applicant’s home country.
The only time that these type of applications can be submitted in SA is if the applicant already has a long term visa or is married to a SA Citizen or PR holder.
