What is a Work Permit Dependency Visa?

Within the British Immigration rules and regulations (Immigration Act 1971, Section 8), a person has a claim to be a dependant if s/he can prove that s/he is:
  • A Spouse that is legally married to a person present and settled in the UK
  • A Dependent of a person who has UK Ancestry
  • A Dependant of a person who has a valid work permit issued by the DFEE in the UK
Note that if you do not fall within these rules, you cannot apply for this visa.
