90-Day Maximum!
Once you have been issued with your Settlement entry clearance, your visa is
activated immediately leaving you a maximum of 90 days to enter the country from
the issue date.
How long is a Settlement Visa valid?
The Settlement visa is granted for a one-year period. After one year in the UK, you can apply for your next visa called an Indefinite Leave to Remain visa as
long as you haven’t spent a period of 90 days or more away from the UK
and the marriage is still subsisting. After holding the Indefinite Leave to Remain
visa for a year, you are eligible to apply for a British passport.
