EEA Family Traveling Permit
What is an EEA Family Traveling permit?
Within the British Immigration rules and regulations (Immigration Act 1971, section 255), a person can apply for this permit if:
-
The spouse and dependant children of an EEA national intends to exercise his/her treaty rights in the UK and
-
The spouse and children wish to reside in the UK with the EEA national
-
The EEA national has confirmed employment in the UK
-
Once in the UK, the EEA National and partner formalise their stay in the UK by applying for a EC Marriage application
How long is the EEA Family Traveling Permit valid?
You need to activate your visa within six months from issue. The Traveling Permit visa is granted for a one-year period. Please ensure that once you have entered the UK, you formalise your stay by applying for an EC marriage application. (Processing time is approximately one year in the UK.) You are still able to travel on your EEA visa.
